Washington, DC - U.S. Representative Brenda L. Lawrence (MI-14) praised the United States Supreme Court, in a 7-2 decision, for upholding the Affordable Care Act and rejecting a reckless Republican-led lawsuit to strike down the ACA.
"Today's decision is a huge win for Michiganders. The Supreme Court rightfully rejected the Republican Party's dangerous attempt to strip healthcare from millions of Americans," said Rep. Lawrence. "While we can take a moment to breathe a sigh of relief, we cannot stop working to protect and preserve the Affordable Care Act. More than 20 million Americans have health care because of it, and the overwhelming number of Americans with pre-existing conditions depend on its protections. The fight continues."
